Salt Dough Recipe

Ingredients:

2 Cup Flour

1 Cup Salt

1/2 Cup water

1/2 White acrylic paint

Directions:

1. Mix Dry and wet ingredients separately, then combine.

2.Bake at 200 degrees for 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of your ornaments.

1. Mix all your Ingredients in a Mixing Bowl

This recipe is foolproof! Just mix dry and wet ingredients separately, then combine. Adjust the dough’s consistency by adding small amounts of water if it’s too dry and crumbly and add more flour if the dough is too sticky.

2. Roll out Dough

Roll the dough into an even layer, approximately a quarter of an inch thick. I suggest rolling out on wax or parchment paper to make transferring the ornaments easier.

3. Cut your Shapes out!

Use a cookie cutter or template to cut out the desired shapes for your ornaments. If your dough dries out as your working the dough just add a touch of water.

4. Add Hole for Ribbon

Don’t forget to create a hole for your ribbon! You can also stamp on designs at this stage. I played around with a knife to carve out some fun designs.

4. Bake

Bake @ 200 Degrees for about 15 minutes. This will vary depending on the thickness of your ornaments. I left mine out a couple days following the oven to ensure they were nice and dry.

4. Get Creative

These ornaments add adorable charm to packages and gifts. Embrace their imperfect charm; the artisan feel is part of their appeal! I choose to leave mine unpainted but let your creativity take the wheel!

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
